Welcome to The Friends of St Andrew's Thursford

  St Andrews

"The Friends of St Andrew's Thursford" was set up in 2010 in response to St Andrew's Church's urgent need of repair.

Working with the Parish Council, the Friends have made a huge contribution to restoring our beautiful and historic church building with the aim of making St Andrew's a well equipped community building, along side the hosting of regular monthly church services. The project has now achieved two goals: the first was to re-roof the church, which was achieved in 2013; the second phase was completed in 2014 when new heating and lighting were installed. Preparation for the third and final stage is now well on the way, with architect designs drawn up for the installation of a servery, toilet, new vestry, disabled friendly access and the repair of a number of windows. Some funds have been raised for this project and further fund raising activities will continue.

If you would like to join the Friends or gain more information on what we are aiming to achieve, contact Stephen Yerby, 01328 878 823

The Friends is an independant organisation with written aims and its own accounts which is raising money through events and generally support the Parochial Church Council in applying for grants to English Heritage and all the other charities that may be available. The PCC are responsible for arranging the work and getting permission from the church authorities - Friends Of would exist to raise money for the PCC solely for repair work to the building.
