St Andrew's Church
We are pleased that our normal monthly service can continue during the current lockdown at 11am on the second sunday of the month. On sundays when there is no servive, St Andrew's will be open for visitors and private prayer between 11am and 3pm. Hopefully we will be able to open the church 7 days a week in the not too distant future.
Our next service is at 11am on Sunday 10th January.
You will always find a very warm welcome and we try and make sure that those who live in Thursford, those who join us from surrounding villages and visitors to the area are all made to feel at home.
For a number of years the church has built up its reputation as a community hub for the village. Up until the Covid pandemic, regular concerts and other events were held in the church and well attended by residents in Thursford and the villages around. During the summer of 2020, a new toilet and kitchenette were installed in the church, ready to make the 'hub' even more welcoming, when concerts, meetings and events are allowed to start again.
Services are generally held on the second sunday of every month at 11am, the exception being our Christmas day service, held at 11am on the day. Subject to COVID restrictions, Eucharist Services are planned for:
January 10th 11.00am
February 14th 11.00am
March 14th 11.00am
April 11th 11.00am
May 9th 11.00am
June 13th 11.00am
July 11th 11.00am
August 8th 11.00am
The successful combination of medieval and victorian styles throughout the building, make St Andrew's unique. It's victorian stained glass is particularly glorious, pronounced by Pevsner as "one of the most beautiful of its time in England". Currently the church is open for visitors and private prayer between 11am and 3pm on Sundays for the rest of December. Hopefully we will be able to open the church 7 days a week in the not too distant future.

Thursford Methodist Chapel
The chapel is situated at the edge of the village green and both serves the Methodist congregation and the village community, acting as our poling station and taking part in village events.
Services are currently not permotted under COVID rules but are usually held every second Sunday at 6.30pm
